I didn’t look the part, but thanks to my loud mouth and freakishly-unusual-7th-grade-girl-brawn, I was able to lift some of my half-pint-peers onto my shoulders and yell like the dickens; this was my one-year-cameo-career as a middle school cheerleader. (FYI: there wasn’t a uniform big enough for me in 8th grade.)

One of the cheers in our repertoire was one you may have heard before:
“V-i-c-t-o-r-y! Victory, victory, that’s our cry!”

While this was a short and sweet sideline cheer, it should be the mantra for us all. We have victory on the inside of us, yet we often permit life’s circumstances to defeat us.

We must be deliberate and intentional.

We must claim victory over whatever opponent we face: fear, shame, guilt, anxiety, worry, depression, debt, wrecked relationships…

Each of these is below us if we choose to faith our fears and claim victory over the giants that try to steal our peace and joy.

This victory comes from trusting His power is yours and His promises are true.

Take some time to set Letter V scripture to memory this week.
And for a little extra motivation and reinforcement, listen to the Elevation Worship song, Resurrecting, to reinforce where your Source of victory begins.

I am your cheerleader on the sideline, sunshine!
You are victorious!
