There are numerous records and accounts of the word soul in The Bible.

The conclusion of the many references is that the human soul is the non-physical part of the body that lives beyond our physical bodies.  Once our bodies perish however, our souls will pass on to live eternally.
What hope this is!

As a woman on mission to help others become healthier, stronger and more confident, I think this is a profound concept!

As a culture, we spend billions of $$$ every year tending to our physical bodies.

Gym memberships, doctors’ visits, massages, botox treatments, personal training sessions, organic produce, vitamins and supplements, pedicures…you get the point, sunshine.

Now, not all of these practices and treatments are bad however, if we are spending more time taking care of our bodies than we are tending to our souls, then, indeed there is a problem.

As you embark upon a new week, sunshine, I encourage you to consider C.S.Lewis’ sentiment and reflect upon how you are treating the very essence of you–your soul–and of course, spend time taking care of God’s Holy Temple–your body–too!
“Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please!
Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God
is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.
You can count on this. Take it to heart.”

This is a great resource from Got Questions Ministries that enhanced my understanding of the complexity of the human soul.
