When I am walking through a parking lot, I have a tight grip around my nieces and nephew’s hands.
I love them more than I thought possible of any human.
I try my best to ensure their safety.
But what I’ve realized is that I have a firm grip on many things in my life.
Like white-knuckle-clenched-fist-kind-of-grip.
My success.
My bank account.
My reputation.
My dress size.
My identity.
My “likes.”
My ego.
My. My. My.
These things have become my gods.

But since I’ve gotten more serious in my walk with God, He’s removed many idols from me. And still is.
Painfully.
But the rewards have been beneficial.
Is there anything you are holding on to that needs to be released, sunshine?
Open up.
Let go.
You cannot receive a blessing with a closed hand. |

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves. If your profits are in heaven, your heart will be there too.”
