“Hey, pretty baby with the high heels on, you give me fever like I’ve never, ever known…”
“I got my first real six-string, bought it at the five-and-dime, played it ’til my fingers bled, was the summer of sixty-nine…”
“I got chills, they’re multiplying, and I’m losing control, cause the power you’re supplying–it’s electrifying!”
“Where it began, I can’t begin to knowing, but then I know it’s growing strong, was in the spring, then spring became the summer, who’d have believed you’d come along…”
“At first I was afraid, I was petrified, Kept thinkin’ I could never live without you by my side, then I spent so many nights just thinking how you did me wrong, and I grew strong, and I learned how to get along…”
If you identified any of the above songs, then your my people. (While not Christian artists, they are classic tunes I grew up to. Don’t judge my musical selection or repertoire, please.)
I don’t think anyone can argue that music is essential to creating a positive experience and eliciting feel-good emotions and happy memories.
In preparation for the upcoming Be My Vision retreat, I’m planning ahead–way ahead.
I’m putting together playlists, and I’d love to hear your “Top 2-3 Songs of All Time.”
While my musical selection is eclectic and diverse, I’m sure there are so many other great songs that I’ve never even heard of that are playlist-worthy.
Please take a minute and respond to this email with your 2-3 favorite songs.
