I was born with muscles, over 600 to be exact.
My arm on the left (circa 1996) has the same muscles as my arm on the right (circa 2016), but the difference was I had not strengthened or developed the muscles (through proper nutrition and exercise) to be seen and most importantly, used at capacity.   With proper training, disciplined eating, and consistent exercise, my muscles were revealed.
This is true not just of our physical bodies.
We must implement spiritual practices to fully develop and ultimately expose and utilize our spiritual gifts and God-given traits.
God has blessed each of us (Galatians 5:22)  with a number of gifts, yet we must train and nourish them properly to be strengthened, revealed, and used to build The Kingdom.
Patience, kindness, compassion, and self-control are but a few of the “character muscles” I am in constant Spiritual Bootcamp to develop.
What training do you need to do, sunshine?
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life…Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.”  2 Peter 1: 3-7
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Tim 4:8
