Rest.
It’s referenced a number of times in the Bible.
It’s even given to us as a command.
Yet we seldom honor a time of slowing down, reflection, and restoration.

But that is exactly what I am doing, sunshine.

As Holy Week is upon us, I am taking time to rest.

I am unplugging.
From free Facebook challenges.
From writing blogs.
From posting on Instagram.
Even texts, calls and emails will be minimal.

I want more of Him.
Less of me.

I want His plans to be made clear.
I want His presence more than any present.

And I’m challenging you, dear sunshine, to do the same.

When was the last time you sat and prayed, journaled, or just sat time doing nothing–yep, that’s no thing?

No cell phone.
No Netflix.
No book.
No laptop.
No cooking.
No carpooling.
No thing.
Just time with Him.

In the coming week, as we prepare for the most precious time in our faith journeys, I’m encouraging you take intentional time to slow down and rest. It doesn’t have to be a weekend or a day of even an hour, but how about 15 minutes, sunshine?

Rest. What do you hear?
Reflect. What has He done for you?
Restore. Once recharged, where will you go?

Let His presence be the best present you’ve received.

Happy Easter to you and your family, sunshine.

My plan is to return to Shine after Easter Sunday.
We shall see what I hear during this time of rest.

Much love to you and yours.
He is risen!
“Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.’
He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place,
where they could be alone.”
Mark 6:31-32 NLT
