It may seem like an oxymoron, but have you invited God into this holiday season?

Into your Black Friday shopping?
Into your Cocktail partying?
Into your Christmas cookie baking?
Into your gift bearing?

Here’s one thing we should remember God is a gracious guest, and He will never go where He is not invited.

“Now pay attention; I am standing at the door and knocking.
If any of you hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to
visit with you and to share a meal at your table, and you will be with Me.”
Rev. 3:20
The Voice

I don’t know about you, sunshine, but besides saying a quick God-is-good-blessing before a meal, I haven’t invited Him into the dark places where out of compulsion, I eat half of the bowl of cookie dough while baking holiday favorites or enjoy too many heavy-calorie-laden appetizers to numb my singleness at a party full of couples.

Oh how different this holiday season will be if I choose to put God on the A-list instead of inviting my biggest fears, most vulnerable insecurities, and self-destructive vices with me.

What about you, sunshine?
Have you invited Him to this holiday season?

He’s ready to come and sit at your table with you.
