Shocking, but true. By the time you read you finish reading this nearly 5 women will have died from heart disease.
This is serious business, and my friend Jane Esselstyn is serious
and is taking massive action to help women prevent and reverse heart disease.
In honor of International Women’s Day, Jane–along with a panel of rock-star industry experts–is hosting a conference with the focus on empowering women to take control of their health and to prevent and reverse heart disease. The answer is not in a pill, or a procedure, but from plants.
My sista-from-another-mista, Jane Esselstyn, is a leading authority on heart disease education & prevention, and she’s composed an all-star team of the country’s most renown doctors and researchers to share their knowledge on this topic and more importantly, to teach you how to incorporate these findings into a model of healthy living that can add years to your life. Strategies will be provided that can reverse chronic, lifestyle-related diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, hypertension and obesity. The day will include expert lecturers, food demonstrations, one-on-one time with presenters, dancing, goody bags and a delicious plant-based lunch designed by Jane and Cleveland Vegan.
Jane credentials are stellar–she’s an RN, author, educator and researcher who presents across the country. She is a fresh and charismatic voice promoting the plant-based, whole food diet. She brings perspective and passion as a woman, nurse and mother to creating on-ramps to the plant-based way of life. Jane and her mother co-authored the popular The Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Cookbook. She has also contributed inventive recipes to the The Engine 2 diet, and NY Times #1 bestseller, Plant-Strong. In the research area, Jane worked with the Cleveland Clinic on a study recently published in the Journal of Pediatrics related to pediatric obesity, hypercholesterolemia and a plant-based diet.
In addition to Jane, you will hear from an all-star lineup:
- Key note is Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Reversal program at the Cleveland Clinic
- Dr. Robert Ostfeld, Cardiologist and Director of Preventive Cardiology at Montefiore Hospital
- Anne Bingham, obstetrician & gynecologist with Crescent Street OBGYN
- Dr. Michael Macknin, pediatrician at the Cleveland Clinic
- Rip Esselstyn, author of The Engin2 Diet and Plant-Strong.
