If you know me or have been following me for a while, you know that I am a sharp shooter. (Although you I know also have the gift of gab.)

So, it’s time to get real, sunshine.

We are nearly a week into the new year, and I’ve enlisted you to a new challenge, but I need to be honest–if you lose weight or not by month’s end is not of concern to me. What does matter to me is how you feel at the end of the month.
It’s likely that you’ve rid your pantry of 7-layer-bars, peppermint bark and some of Trader Joe’s best wine picks for the season. So now it’s time to delve a little deeper into your health, after all, we know that weight is only a fraction of your overall health picture.

There is so much more to you–and your health–than the number on the scale or the tag tucked inside of your latest TJ Maxx deal.

How much sleep are you getting?
How often are you worrying about money? Your job? Loved ones?
Adult beverages? How often? How many?
How much of your time is spent sitting each day? Exercising?
What do your BMs look like? How often do you go? What does it “look” like? (Yep, I just asked you about your poop, sunshine.)
Do you wear a seatbelt?
Floss daily? (I’m not talking about the dance move, although that’s great for your health, too!)

Before we get too far ahead into the January #100 rep challenge, I want you to have a better baseline and more accurate picture of your health, sunshine.

I’m inviting you to take a real age test that uses a variety of factors to determine your age based upon a number of habits and behaviors. Click the link below and register to complete the 15 minute query and be amazed at the number and diversity of contributing factors Dr. Rozien et al consider healthy determinants.

After taking the test, you will likely have new awarenesses that may trigger a reaction–“Oh, that’s simple! I can totally change that!”

Next, share with me your newfound awareness and the one thing you are going to do differently starting today to help improve your health!

As always, know that my prayers for you are to be your best, most invigorated, most vibrant, most alive, on purpose and God-honoring-and-God-glorifying self. The scripture I am praying for Shine readers and followers this week is Job 33:25:  “Let his flesh become fresher than in youth,
Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor…”
P.S. Note: my side-by-side pics above show my “real age” version and
my “present day FF” version. I need to be honest, I felt better when I was actually 36–my goal is to get there again, and this test helped reveal a few things that I could/should be doing, not related exclusively to my weight.
That’s my intention with having you complete this quiz.
Use it as one measure and reevaluate a few times a year to track your progress!  Oh, and by the way–how are you feeling with nearly a week of Shine’s 100 rep challenge underway? I welcome any feedback or awarenesses you’d like to share.
