I had so many positive responses from Monday’s message that I felt I needed to go the mile deep instead of the mile wide.
In the passage I referenced on Monday, Jesus states,
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged,
and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye
and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother,
‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’
when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?'”
Matt 7:1-4
Hmmm.
Speck of sawdust?
Plank?
Both made of the same material?
And just how close do you have to be to see a speck of sawdust?
Are you examining him with a microscope?
Could it be that what you dislike most about someone else might be what you dislike most about yourself? Or could it be the character trait that needs the most refining in you?
Perhaps it’s time to do a little soul searching, sunshine?
Pray about what God might be teaching you about you through that person.
Be open to hear.
Be open to change.
You might be surprised what’s revealed.
Finally, take time to pray for your “brother” (or sister) too, sunshine.
You might be surprised what happens in that relationship.
