The phrase “giving up” has become synonymous with failure.
When we hear someone say “I give up,” we typically think, “They can’t hack it.”
Well, perhaps this is my personal internal voice speaking.
On more occasions than I can count hairs on my head, I’ve defeated myself with this sentiment…until I read Christine Caine’s tweet a few weeks ago.

Caine’s perspective rocked my world and was just the 140-character-straight-talk I needed to give up on some lifeless pursuits (and people.)
The thought that giving up can be an opportunity for creating something exciting and new instead of holding on and giving in to struggle, compromise or failure was just the perspective shift that I needed. I packed my tent from “Give In Gorge” and have moved on up to “Give Up Gables.”
What about you, sunshine?
Is there something you’ve been giving in to that perhaps needs you to give up on?
C’mon.
Join me at Give Up Gables.
Greener pastures await, dear one. |
