Fighting or building?

Where are you exerting energy–on fighting the old or building the new?

Remember, friend, Nehemiah faced much opposition building the wall. His mission was riddled with haters and smack talk.

Similarly, when you set out on a mission to better yourself to be used by God in mighty ways, you will have challenges.

Jesus informed us: life is going to be hard, but take heart, I’ve taken care of it for you.

So instead of praying for life to be easy, pray for yourself to be strong.

As you embark upon this new week, my prayer is that you will glean wisdom from Nehemiah and pray to be strengthened in the face of adversity.

“I sent him this reply: ‘Nothing like what you are saying is happening;
you are just making it up out of your head.’

They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, ‘
Their hands will get too weak for the work,
and it will not be completed.’

But I prayed, ‘Now strengthen my hands.'”

If you’re feeling especially challenged or have a specific prayer, send a reply.

Here’s to a great week.
