Our membership group just met for our call to discuss our June book, Breaking Free from Body Shame by Jess Connolly.

If you’ve yet to read it, it is powerful and poses a number of questions to help us love our bodies into wholeness and the way that God loves us–fully, completely, unconditionally!

One set of questions really struck me as I explored the topic of loving my body as God loves me, so I thought I would share some off these with you to ponder before you begin a new week:

What if this week you tried eating as an act of worship?

What if eating wasn’t about punishment or pleasure apart from God?

What if it wasn’t about withholding or seeking comfort?

What if it was about thanking God for His good gifts and nourishing your body for the work He’s assigned you?

How could these reflections change your relationship with God, your body and ultimately others for good?

I pray this blesses you, dear one, and encourage you to consider these words from Paul:

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do,
do it all for the glory of God.”
1 Corin 10:31

Did you know that Shine has a membership group?
It’s called Lighten Up Lifestyle, and it’s a private community of sisters
that unite to live the way God intended us–learning, growing, and living life
as The Light in our respective communities.
We have monthly group calls where we discuss our monthly book reading
while partnering in prayer, fasting and random acts of kindness
in our respective communities around the globe!
