I am not going to get into all of the details here (but I will during an upcoming podcast), but this past week I ran into a long-time acquaintance at the gym.
She nearly spontaneously combusted into tears within minutes of our greeting.
She ugly-cried right there on the gym floor as she wept two-year’s worth of pain and frustration over her weight–“I’ve yo-yo’ed 50 pounds! Seriously, Frannie–up and down 50.lbs! I have nearly 10 sizes of clothes in my closet…”
She listed her numerous attempts at losing weight:
- Keto
- Shakeology
- Intermittent fasting
- Juice cleanses
- Detoxes
- Apple cider vinegar shots and pills
I validated her worth beyond these diets.
I prayed with her. (Isn’t it amazing how God can use even a crowded gym floor as a mission field!?!)
Upon our departure, I was compassionately angry–not at her, but at the enemy’s ploys to kill this sweet friend’s enjoyment of life and lure her into an ongoing cycle of pain and frustration! Oh, how the enemy has fed her lies which she’s now adopted as beliefs.
She’s not alone.
As I shared, I can still get tangled in his traps.
What about you, friend?
Does any of this resonate?
If you’ve been on a yo-yo cycle of diet exhaustion, I’d love to hear from you.
