In a recent interview with Bishop TD Jakes about his new book, Soar, he made a profound statement that has stuck with me.

I’m paraphrasing, but it went something like this:

“No where in the Bible do you see that God made a chair or a table.
He made a tree, then He gave you the abilities–creativity and talents–
to look at that tree and make something great…”

So, dear sunshine, what has resource has God entrusted you with?

What talents and abilities has He gifted you to create something great with that resource?

He has given you gifts and talents that no one else has, and He’s placed you in a family, work environment, community, etc…to share your gifts, which will ultimately give Him glory.

“God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful…”
